Scholarships Awarded for Teen Retreat

A scholarship of $40 will be awarded to all attendees of the Teen Retreat.  The Community Foundation did approve our grant to do this.  This would mean that those who sign up by tomorrow will only have to pay $35 and those who sign up after that will pay $55.

Showmanship & Fitting Clinic Canceled

You may have noticed a Showmanship & Fitting Clinic for all species in the newsletter.  This event was set tentativly for April 30th.  However, the grant we put in to fund this was not approved.  So, due to lack of funding, we will not be having this event this year. 

Teen Retreat Reminder

Attention all Teens:  4-H Teen Retreat Early Bird Deadline is just around the corner.  Sign up by for February 1st to get a great discount.  It's a great opportunity to meet new people and develop great leadership skills!  Check out the Clinton County 4-H Blog for more details.

PEC Meeting Canceled

The PA Equine Council meeting that Clinton County is hosting has been cancelled for Jan 27 noon to 5 pm in the Clinton County Learning Center.  A meeting will be rescheduled at a later time.  Please let anyone know from the HPDC leaders and members who were planning on attending.

DuMor Show Feed: TSC is launching a new line of private label feeds for cattle, pig, poultry, goat, and lamb on January 24, 2011; and for each bag purchased, TSC is generously donating $.25 per bag to support 4-H Animal Science curriculum development. More information about this new opportunity will be made available at the TSC website.

Spring Paper Clover: Mark your calendars, TSC and Del's stores will run our spring Paper Clover Fundraiser in all stores nationwide from April 15-25! Coming soon we will have customizable resources (press release template, posters, etc.) available for you at the 4-H website.

Central Region Production Show & Horsemanship Skills Testing

The Central Regional Production Horse Show will be held Aug 3, 2011 in Williamsport, PA at the Williamsport Riding Club.

Horsemanship Skills Testing for Level 3/4 will be held June 25 and July 13, 2011 at the Ag Arena at PSU.  Please contact Helene McKernan, Clinton County Horse Program Assistant at hbm10@psu.edu or 570-726-0022,  if you are a member and you are interested in being tested in either Level 3 or 4 Horsemanship Skills.  To participate and be tested at either date the required registration forms need to be completed.

Hoard's Dairyman Cow Judging Contest

The Hoard's Dairyman is now doing their Cow Judging Contest.  If your club is interested in participating in this contest, please contact Rebecca Sellers as soon as possible.  This is the contest they do where you actually mail the entries in and judge from the brochure they provide.

2011 Teen Retreat

Registrations are now open for the 2011 Teen Retreat.  This is a great opportunity for Clinton County youth and is available for any 4-H member over 13 years of age.  There is a grant pending that would allow each member who attends a $40 discount.  More information about this will be announced when available.
