Alright folks. E-data is your lifeline for 4-H. So, please, please, please make sure you put your username and password in a safe place. Some find it useful to keep their passwords in their phones even. Keep them wherever you will remember them because this year, registration for events will be done through E-data and E-data only, unless additional information is needed.
If you do happen to lose this information, contact me for your username. Then, you will need to go to https://fps.psu.edu/ to reset your password. A new password will be emailed to you and then you can go back to the Friends of Penn State Website to change it to something you will remember. Please contact our office if you have any questions. Penn State Open House
Penn State’s College of Agricultural Sciences will host their annual Fall Open House on Monday, October 11, 2010. An announcement of the event, including agenda and registration information is found on the flyer below. We ask that you please share this information with your students and their parents. Information is also available online at http://agsci.psu.edu/students/events/ag-fall-open-house.
Poultry at the Farm Show
Several 4-H members had expressed an interest in participating in the poultry showmanship, poster, scrapbook, and/or bird exhibits at the PA Farm Show. The link for information for registering is: http://www.farmshow.state.pa.us/files/PremiumBook/DEPARTMENT%209%20-%20POULTRY.pdf.
Please note the December 1, 2010 deadline for entry forms. In addition, anyone wishing to exhibit their birds will need to have them blood tested AND LT drops administered before the entry form due date. Bob and I are willing to assist anyone wishing to do this; however, you will need to let us know enough ahead of time to order and receive the LT drops. In addition, we have been informed that there will be a cost involved with the blood testing – at the moment there will be a 50 cents per bird fee for pullorum testing and an additional $4 per “household” fee for any group of submissions under $10. If there are any questions, please contact us at 570-726-7675.
Good lock and hope to see you at the Farm Show!

Sweatshirt ordering for the PA State Horse Show
Would you like to order a Hoodie Sweatshirt for the 2010 PA State 4-H Horse Show?
Chris Offutt, a leader from Hoofbeats Club would like to extend an offer to all 4-H horse members, leaders, and family. A hoodie sweatshirt order is being placed that will display the wording for qualifiers as follows:
Clinton County
4-H
2010 State Horse Show
Qualifier
or the wording will be as follows for non-qualifiers:
Clinton County
4-H
2010 State Horse Show
The hoodies are not just for the members who qualified to participate in the state show, but in fact, it is really neat to see a cluster of people from our county in the stands watching and supporting our qualifiers that are wearing the hoodies. Similarly, the kids look great in the Opening Ceremony with matching shirts.
The color chosen for this year was burnt orange with white letters. If you are interested please email Chris at coffutt@lhup.edu or call her at 570-295-0414 by Oct 1, 2010. You will need to indicate the following: 1) whether they are a state qualifier or not, 2) size – Youth S M L XL or Adult S M L XL. The price of the hoodie is estimated to be around $16, but actual cost will depend on the amount of hoodies placed in the order. Anyone who orders a hoodie is responsible for payment. Please remember that club funds cannot be used toward the purchase of wearing apparel and if you choose to order a hoodie, it will be a personal cost.
Farm Show Tagging Deadline
Just a gentle reminder that the tagging deadline for market lambs, goats, and pigs is October 15.
